Project Overview:

The BBC Broadcasting Studios in the Mail Box had numerous ‘outdated’ Acoustic Sound Baffles within 5 of their Radio Broadcasting Studios. Which in turn had been causing sound reverberation problems for many years. They came to Ce Solutions with the issue, looking for a solution that created better acoustic environments and a modern look to complement the new future/equipment which was recently fitted.

Given this brief, Ce Solutions attended site to complete an acoustic survey and found that the reverberation time (Rt) in the Studios was very high for such a sensitive environment, along with numerous existing baffles either faulty, broken or missing. Our acoustic evaluation determined a requirement level of our high performance Phonic Fabric Product to reduce the Rt to a target level along with providing the modern look required – this proposal was accepted by the client

The subsequent design process led to the approval of multi-colour panel arrangements across the studios that complimented the existing colour schemes in each area. The installation went smoothly, has made a considerable improvement to the Rt level and ultimately led to great client satisfaction
